Hi! My name is Julia Trafton. I am a speech language pathologist with my Master’s of Science in Communication Disorders, Bachelors in Health Science and my Certificate of Clinical Competencies. I have worked in every scope of practice from ages 0 to 100! I am the primary SLP for pre-k at Mary F. Janvier and can’t wait to get to know you and your children!
Speech Therapy
- Therapy that occurs when individuals have difficulty producing speech sounds correctly or fluently (e.g., substituting sounds, stuttering/fluency)
Speech Language Pathologists
- Speech-language pathology is the scientific study of speech, fluency, feeding and swallowing, and all the mechanisms of speech and language, along with the therapeutic application of corrective and augmentative measures to help people with speech disorders speak and communicate better.
Language Therapy
- Therapy that occurs when individuals have difficulty understanding others, sharing thoughts, feelings, and ideas, and/or using language in functional and socially appropriate ways
Social Communication
- Therapy that occurs when individuals have trouble with the social aspect of verbal and nonverbal communication.
